When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
I've always loved writing to be honest but the realization came in when I knew I had a great story to tell. That was about 5 years ago now.

Where do your ideas come from?
Recently I've been on a suspenseful thriller high, I can't really tell you exactly where they come from but I believe falling asleep to the ID channel may have something to do with it.

How long does it take you to write a book?
It depends on how the story is flowing. It once took me 4 months to complete a book.

Do you work to an outline or plot or do you prefer just see where an idea takes you?
Normally I have an outline as to where I want the story to go but often the story line turns on me.

How do you think you’ve evolved creatively?
I think I've came a very long way from where I started. I'm not finished evolving yet.

What is the hardest thing about writing?
The emotion from the different characters.

What is your work schedule like when you're writing?
When I can it's about 3 hours.

What is your latest release and what's next?
My latest book is called Within one of my new favorites. Currently I'm working on the last of my first series which is called "The Final Piece/ Pieces of Me 3"

Krystle was a normal kid by some people's standards. If you were to ask her parents, she was just a “special” child. Krystle's mother knew that something definitely wasn't right with her.
Given the situation, Krystle's father does what he feels is necessary to take care of the problem at hand. When Krystle starts to become too much, that's when her aunt, Courtney, comes into play. Being that Courtney's profession is to listen to people's problems, she feels inclined to help her brother, Tony, and niece Krystle, out.
The whole thing blows up in Courtney's face when secrets are revealed, and Krystle finds out something that she never even knew. For Tony, it feels as if he's losing his little girl, but for Courtney, it feels as if the years of secrets she's been hiding are coming to light.
Who will prevail in this epic battle for Krystle's sanity? Will Krystle find out the truth or be forever shadowed? Will Courtney be honest or leave Krystle in the dark concerning the truth? Will Tony be truthful or keep his rouse going?

Find out Krystle's beginning to end when you read WITHIN.

“Be quiet, it’s FiFi. I’m trying to make sure Akira isn't listening to me.”I just held the phone; I can’t believe after all that shit last night, she had the nerve to call me today. “FiFi don’t call me anymore, we aren’t friends! I know what it is and what it has obviously been all these months. At the end of the day, you and Akira got off easy, while I’m paying the fucking price!”“Shut up and just listen, okay? It’s not me. It’s Akira. She’s getting powerful and I can’t stop her, she’s even starting to overpower me. You have to do something to stop her.”“Me? I have enough that I have to deal with, y’all haven’t helped me on shit!”“You know I don’t agree with everything Akira says, but I agree with some things and you are going to have to start taking responsibility, for a lot of the shit that has happened, Krystle. What happened to Bishop is because of you and only you. We did what you’ve been wanting to do; it’s just a shame though, Bishop didn’t deserve to be done like that.”I heard her sigh. I had to keep my composure as I felt my anger rise and boil inside me; the nerve of her to call my fucking phone and say something so disrespectful! “You damn right my man didn’t deserve to be done like that, especially by the hands of you and your little friend. Y’all probably had this planned from the moment I met y'all!”Before she got a chance to answer, I heard a small commotion, and then Akira’s voice. “You are really sick, Krystle, you know that? The sooner you get some help, the better off you will be. Don’t talk to FiFi like she’s the crazy one, when in all actuality, it’s you!”“Fuck you, Akira, like I told your flunky; his blood will never be on my hands, you two have to answer to what y'all did to him!”She laughed a loud, long, evil laugh and then took a deep sigh.

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
I’ve always known that I wanted to write.  My love affair for books and words started when I was a small child.

Where do your ideas come from?
My ideas come from so many different things.  I was born and raised in Harlem.  I have always been fascinated with Brownstones.  I live very close to Strivers Row.   It was a definite must for me to use those beautiful houses with my first short story.  I am also a people watcher.  A laugh, smile, or even a frown will spark an idea for a character.

How long does it take you to write a book?
Each book is different.  Some take month’s others take weeks.  Pearls was a quick and easy story.  It took me about two months to write.  The main character Victor was sexy and complicated.  He was someone I would love to date so this story was fairly easy for me.

Do you work to an outline or plot or do you prefer just see where an idea takes you?
I definitely outline the plot but sometimes things will switch up drastically.  I may use a beginning of a story line for the end.

How do you think you’ve evolved creatively?
I think I am a work in progress.  Embracing my vulnerabilities has helped me to become a lot more creative.

What is the hardest thing about writing?
I would definitely say sharing your pain or hurt.  It can be therapeutic but it’s also very difficult.

What is your work schedule like when you're writing?
Midnights are the golden time of the day for me.  The words spill easily like a cold drink of water.

What is your latest release and what's next?
My next release is “Pearls 2 – The Rocky Oliver Story”.  It is the follow up to my first Novel “Pearls”.

Victor Scott is a successful sexy bachelor from Harlem.  Particular about who he welcomes into his world he keeps most at bay.  A relaxing night and an open window lead to an unexpected interest in his seductive, voluptuous neighbor.Allured by her confidence and delightful proportions Pearl is everything that Victor desires.Does he settle forever being a voyeur?  Or does the voyeur become the one who is being watched?

She emerged from her kitchen, crossing in front of the windows, with a goblet of wine in hand. Victor cracked his neck, anxious for her next move. Secretly, he had been watching her for months now. Stumbling in late after a long night of partying, he was on his way to the kitchen, when he caught a glimpse of her in her living room completely naked, painting. Her free-spirited nudity captivated him. “She” was his Pearl, the nickname he had given her. The pearl necklace she wore faithfully, always hung loosely from her neck. A voluptuous, caramel beauty, she had the air of a regal African goddess. Mango-sized breasts hung naturally to her plump, round stomach. The deep arch in her back made her ass stand out as a prized stallion’s would. Victor loved to watch her ass jiggle loosely, as she casually walked around her apartment in the buff. He wanted to rub his hands across the stretch marks on each side of her hips. It was more than just the visual of her rust-colored, large areolas, or the plump vagina in between her legs. The passion and intensity displayed on her face, while she would sit in front of the easel and paint turned him on. Completely smitten by her, she was everything that he wanted in a woman and then some.

Julia On Tour ~ Georga 2016

November 2015 I decided to go on tour. I wanted it to be epic. I wanted to meet old and new readers throughout the country. I had no idea how to accomplish this. I had no budget whatsoever, and almost no direction.

Didn't stop me though (I never let my financial situation determine my dreams) I just decide and jump off the cliff.

I posted my decision to travel on social media, and my readers showed up and showed out. They helped me organize the tour. They booked signings for me, and set up readings with book clubs. They shocked me, and I am still overwhelmed!

My first stop on the tour was Georgia

The ladies of SBS BOOK CLUB hosted me in Columbus Ga. They paid for my hotel stay and bought my boyfriend and I dinner to discuss the Fornication Series. I was in severe pain for most of the trip, and nervous as all hell, however, the ladies showed me a great time. They were delightful, and asked very insightful questions about my book. I had a great time, and swear that I felt no pain while in there presence.

Nubian Book Store in Morrow was the second stop in Georgia. Now I was going through the equivalent of labor pains and my books didn't show up at the store... I was crushed. I called and ripped the printer a new one (not proud just stating the facts) The books showed up at the store an hour after I did. Marcus, the store owner is such a gracious host, and I had a ball <3

All in all. I had a great time with some very beautiful people. Traveling was murder, but my boyfriend took such good care of me on the trip, that no one knew how much I was suffering.

In a couple of weeks I will tell you all about Newark NJ
