Book Reviews: Purple Orchard Syndrome & Back To Basics

Candid conversations with men
in regards to their fathers.

This projects was created in efforts to inform the unaware. To motivate the innate. So that there will be no more room for excuses. Once you’re presented with the effect, you must take responsibility for the cause.

An investment in your son will yield an infinite sum.

My Two Cents

Mr. Stokes delivered a series of thought provoking questions to various men with different backgrounds and starkly different relationships with their fathers. The participants answers were as revealing as they were interesting and they offered a fresh perspective on male behavior. I read this book with my boyfriend, and asked him the questions that the book presented. I was surprised by his answers and very grateful to this author for giving us a tool to understand each other better. Seeing how the actions of the father affects the son is a revelation that I think all would benefit from.

I highly recommend this read!

Kenya has always been the dependable go to friend and daughter. When a family secret is revealed she realizes that she can’t trust anybody. Not even her own mother. Rocked by the revelations Kenya embarks on a journey of discovering who she is when she’s not the support system of everyone else.

Kevin is tired of the fast life. He’s ready to settle down and find a wife. The remnants of his last relationship have left him jaded. Between trying to follow his dreams and run from the past he’s had little time to focus on what he truly wants…love.

When the paths of Kenya and Kevin cross it’s almost like fate stepped in and guided them to each other. But where there is fate, there must be faith because the devil is not far behind. Will they be able to navigate the storms or will they let the tsunami of life destroy what they want to build

My Two Cents
Mrs. Brown weaves a deliciously descriptive tale of love's ups and downs. Back to Basics is an emotional roller coaster. I was completely floored by the imagery in this book. It is an amazing journey into the characters hearts and minds. Kevin and Kenya's plight is easily relatable. You know theses characters because they are so well developed. You will find yourself rooting for them, and you won't get anything done because it is so well written you won't want to put it down.
